Dales Housing and Wirksworth Swimming Pool launch initiative to help residents improve their health and wellbeing.
Social housing provider Dales Housing has opened a £5,000 fund with Wirksworth Swimming pool for local tenants to use on free pool sessions.
Under the scheme, the first 100 residents, from Dales Housing properties, to apply will be entitled to a £50 voucher for activities at Wirksworth Swimming Pool. The voucher can be used as full or part-payment on activities such as children’s learn to swim lessons, adult AquaFit, 1-2-1 swimming tuition or public swimming.
Speaking on behalf of Dales Housing, Samantha Taylor commented: “We are delighted to work with the pool as they provide a valuable local facility for the people of Wirksworth and surrounding areas. There is an opportunity for our residents of all ages to access the amenity and this support fits perfectly with our aim to have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of our residents.”
Wirksworth Swimming Pool Manager, Glyn Booth comments: “We are extremely pleased to be working with Dales Housing and grateful for their support with this initiative. This fund is a fantastic opportunity for residents to learn to swim or exercise in water. It also provides a boost to the pool’s finances: which as a self-funding charity is needed to support the long term sustainability of the facility.”
Vouchers are available from Wirksworth Swimming Pool reception for the first 100 applicants and are limited to one per household. A formal proof of address (ie a utility bill) will be required. For more details call 01629 825704 or email us by clicking here
