Pool extension 25th September 2017
We are pleased to let you know that through grants, donations and fund-raising we have finally reached the amount required to be able to undertake the extension project at Wirksworth Swimming Pool.
The building will be extended on the side facing the Anthony Gell car park, and the works will commence on Monday 25th September. The works will be undertaken by HA Briddon Building Contractors, and we estimate they will be completed by the end of January 2018.
Once completed, the extension will feature additional changing facilities, a disabled toilet, storage space and a new reception/office. The design of the extension has taken into account the main aim of improving customer experience, and we hope the additional space, although modest, will ease the pressure on the changing rooms during busy times.
Apart from the current swap in male and female changing rooms, we are not anticipating any major disruption to the Pool business on a day to day basis. If any disruption is anticipated, we will aim to let you know, well in advance, of any changes, cancellations, etc. by email, Facebook and the website.
Otherwise, we hope the building works bring only interest and excitement as we see the new extension taking shape. If you would like more information on the final design, or anything else in regards to the extension, please ask in Reception.
